Manolo for the Big Girl!

Filed under: Uncategorized — Manolo @ 6:48 am

Manolo says, welcome to the Manolo for the Big Girl!

The Manolo wishes to introduce you to the two bloggers who will be writing in this place, Plumcake and Francesca,

Not only are they wonderfully entertaining bloggers, possessed of powerful and funny voices, but they are also women who understand the peculiar challenges and rewards of being the big girl in the modern world.

Of the course, the Manolo would not have asked the Plumcake and the Francesca to blog for him if they did not share the Manolo’s attitude of intelligent, fun-loving, open-hearted joie de vivire. Nor would he have asked them to help if they did not sincerely believe that it is possible for anyone to achieve super fantasticness.

And this is what the Manolo hopes you will learn here over the coming months, the not-so-secret, secrets of super fantasticness, of how to be happy and look good when the wider world seems to conspire to keep you otherwise.

And now, let the Big Girl Blogging begin!

  2. Great start – the introductions from our new big Manolo-ettes are fabulous – well-written, clear, funny, and in keeping with the superfantastic Manolo style without copying the One and Only. Two great women that can stand on their own two feet in style.

  3. Manolo: I have two questions:

    1. Now that you have launched the Big Girls blog, are you thinking of starting a small girl blog? Small girls come in different shapes and sizes, too and need the 18-carats caring connaisseurship of the small feminine such as the Manolo has to make their life just a tad more perfect…

    2. Will Francesca and Plumcake devote much time to Queen Latifa who is in manolesque terms the most superfantastic big girl celebrity around? She can be the Angelina Jolie of this blog.

Much success to the Big Duo! Great introduction! Salut!

  5. I’m immediately adding this to my “favorites” — what a great idea. I love good writing… accessible fashion… and the message of self-confidence. I can’t wait to see all the pretty fashion! Bring it on!

  6. Just came home from visiting my teenage niece, a tall, Junoesque gal, who is convinced that she’s ugly. She’s smart, has lovely creamy skin, curves, large hazel eyes, and beautiful hands, there’s no way she’s ugly. But she’s been given a lot of flack (from her horrible mother who no longer lives with her, thank God), and so the poor girl’s been covering herself up in baggy jeans and horrible t-shirts. Looks like this blog is going to give her Auntie Karen a lot of material to help, so thanks!

Not to mention, I could use some inspiration for myself as well. :-)

That cute Old Navy strapless number would be perfect for my niece’s Senior Prom.
