My Cadillac is draped in black because today, 30 years ago, Elvis Presley died. while The King is my least favorite of all the Million Dollar Quartet –I’m a Johnny Cash girl to no one’s surprise– it wouldn’t be right if we didn’t show at least a couple of pairs of blue suede shoes.
(note, Plumcake has a serious hate on for all-but-one ankle boots and cannot be trusted to recommend them. The one pair she does like are the black cannage boots from Dior)
(L-R) Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash
The questionable blue ankle boot description tells me I will walk with “gazelle-like grace” in this 4″ stiletto boots. I had no idea gazelles were inclined to fall down every ten steps or so.

I hate booties, loath them in fact. I can’t think of anyone who actually looks good in them. They only really work with pants, and then they seem pretty pointless.

Plumcake, not three months ago I stood in that very recording studio (Sun Studio in Memphis, of course) and got chills down my spine at the thought of all the amazing artists who had recorded there. You *must* go, so you can stand on the black-tape X that marks the spot where everyone from the divine Mr. Cash to Justin Timberlake stood to record their vocals.
Also, ankle boots must be the work of the devil: unflattering and non-functional.

Tsk. The ankle boot is a perfectly nice bit of footwear under trousers – and I will confess to wearing them with skirts, also. However, I have no need to convince those who despise them – the more boots for me!
