I’d rather be fat than be that bloviating windbag Michael Moore. I’d rather be fat than starving to death from malnutrition. I’d rather be fat than be someone obsessed with their weight.

I once had to make that choice – fat or dead – when I was put on large doses of corticosteroids, which saved my life but put nearly 100 extra pounds on me. I’m here to say I made the sensible decision.

….plagued with facial hair. Oh wait, the Annalucia has that as well :(
Still, she would rather be fat than:
…mean and crazy (like her mamma)
…unable to put together three sentences without gratuitous political snark (like her sister-in-law)
…unable to enjoy her own cooking
…married to anyone other than the Tedesco
…sick, blind or crippled.
Comment by Annalucia — October 3, 2007 @ 8:58 pm
I’d rather be fat than unable to enjoy my own baking. I’d rather be fat than so bony that I poke my fiance when we cuddle in bed. I’d rather be fat than unhappy. I’d rather be fat than character-less, passion-less, or mindless. I’d rather be fat than obsessed with my looks, how people perceive me, or whether I’ve gained two pounds today.

Word up to Pinkleader and the other smart cookies here; I’d rather be a size 20 who can comfortably run 5km in close to half an hour than thin and very unwell.
…be cruel
…be mean
…feel the need to make anyone feel ugly or lacking because of their size (such as dismissing petite women for being ‘unfeminine’ or ‘easily broken’).

This is a great exercise. I realize that I would rather be fat and be myself, with all the good things I have, than be skinny and not be me. There isn’t much of myself I would trade just to be skinny, and I didn’t fully know that. Thanks.
