Ok, after looking at the America cover, I am pretty sure that they “didn’t digitally slim her body.” Just the wording there is a big clue, however! What they did do is give her skinnier arms, airbrush out her cleavage and the crease there the upper arm meets the body, and they have also lengthened her neck and perched her pretty face atop it at a really unnatural angle.

Have you read this month’s Glamour yet? The editor addresses the altered state of America by saying that while she was airbrushed they did not “slim” her using a computerized technique. To which I say…yeah right.

Yes, you are right — America is a lot thinner than she was in the movie (although she still has some meat on her — and it looks good). But why do they need to pare down anyone?? Although if they are going to pare you down anyhow, why not just eat?

I think Mariah looks pretty. Airbrushed, yes, but they airbrush all their covers.

They alter everyone’s figures on the cover. Besides, America has given into the pressure and dropped MAJOR amounts of weight since Real Women Have Curves. So why shouldn’t they pare her down like all the others? She’s no longer a curvy woman’s advocate. She’s just another Hollywood actress strictly dieting to be thin.

I don’t know why they felt compelled to alter America’s figure. I spent the weekend watching all 23 episodes of season 1 and she is adorable. Her figure is just fine. SHE IS NOT FAT!!!!!!!!!!
