I actually have the convertible dress and love it. I went to Monif C.’s Curvy Girls Night Out about 2 seasons ago and she wrapped it on me herself, so I got a chance to really see how it works and it’s not as complicated as some people might think. I wear it alot with pants and jeans on the weekends and have black, red, and teal (last season). I recommend it, but don’t be afraid to get someone to help you figure it out in the beginning.

So, I sew. And I love the idea of the convertible dress, but I have some fairly serious concerns re: the skirt. Do y’all think that it would be doable with a woven fabric for the skirt in place of the jersey knit? Because my poochy area cannot handle a jersey skirt, but I thought a stretch twill or taffeta might work. Thoughts?

You could probably make it work as long as you still used a stretchier fabric for the actual “converting” pieces at the top; could make for some interesting textural contrast. Although if you do mix fabrics, I’d perhaps advise that you not wear it over pants, because depending on what you choose it might be a little much. The alternative is to still use the jersey and put something else with a bit more structure under it in that part of the skirt, but that could be hard to wrangle because of the way the jersey moves.

I was skeptical about the convertible dress when I heard about it last year, but I bought a red one for New Year’s last year and it looked really great on me. Since then I bought a black one and I really love them. The skirt does a funny thing where it is shorter in the front, but I think it’s because the skirt length is all one length and when you tie it, it tends to pull the front up a bit. I love it though and even though I don’t like my knees, it’s a great length for me. I actually wear it alot as a skirt to work with sweater sets and my co-workers are surprised when I tell them it’s really a dress. I’ll be buying more with the sale definitely. Cant wait too wear a new one old years night..

I LOVE THE CONVERTIBLE DRESS!!! When I first got the dress, I was skeptical because I wasn’t a plus size woman. I wore a size 8 but was able to see that any size woman can wear this dress. I wore the teal color to my graduation from grad school and received so many compliments. People were asking me where did I get my dress from and how could they get one. During my pregnancy with twins I gained some weight and just didn’t like anything I put on. Once I put on that convertible dress it made me feel just as sexy and beautiful as I did before the pregnancy. My husband told me he liked the dress on me before and after the babies. I’m also getting really good at wrapping it different ways. It is great to find a dress that you can wear anywhere and to any event!! Thanks MonifC

Oh my this is my favorite dress of hers…it fits all body types and can be worn so many different ways you really cant go wrong by having one (or two and three in different colors) in your wardrobe. Once you get it home I recommend playing with it, wearing it different ways really shows you what a valuable piece it is to have. Not to mention NO ONE else has a dress like this…not even for the “little girls” and aren’t they jealous. I just can’t believe how you couldn’t like this dress….it looks fabulous on and comes in so many sexy colors! Stop sleeping girls, go get yourself one and you’ll see what I’m saying. XOXO
