Francesca is heading for a vacation in England, and is thinking that a meet-n’-greet over cocktails with our British readers would be superfantastic!
So, how about it, ladies? Shout if you live in London and would be available to meet with Francesca on March 25 or 26! More detailed time, date and place TBA. (In fact, Francesca will gladly take recommendations for a nice, sophisticated cocktail bar in London, preferably within easy distance of Russell Square, where she will be staying.)
xoxo!
Oh, Francesca! I am indeed envious. I have family across the pond, but unfortunately The Man is keeping me chained to my desk for the foreseeable future. My knowledge of cocktail bars in London is minimal, unfortunately, but my cousins swear by the cafes in various museums. The National Gallery has a lovely coffee bar on the ground level. It’s great for people watching and ambiance. If you’re an afternoon tea kinda gal–and you don’t want the hordes that can invade museums–Claridges’s has a wonderful spread. I went for my birthday last June. If you go, you MUST go to the loo (that sounds odd, I know…) but there is a lady who attends to you who mixes the water temperature for you so it is just so! Sigh, I miss London!
Enjoy your visit!!

Would LOVE to meet up ! I hear the Dorchester Hotel is very nice for afternoon tea (but I imagine Claridges is too).
I don’t mean to sound like a stalker but I work ten minutes’ walk from Russell Square too. I recommend cocktails in the hotel on the corner by the tube station (can’t remember the name, I think it may be something really dull like the Russell Hotel) – expensive but it was like a little gentlemen’s club, tucked away from the bustle outside.
Hope you have a fabbo time !

For tea:
1) The Dorchester
2) The Savoy
3) Claridges
4) The Connaught
I will not be able to join you (sulk) but if you hear of a rock concert starring a man named JJ Appleton, you should go.
If you would like to email me I can tell you more about why.
