I just bought my prom dress. I am very excited. It is a dark green, strapless, ballroom gown. The skirt is not horribly full though. There is a satin-underlay and a sheer fluffy fabric overtop. It has little rosettes all along the bodice…and comes with a shawl.

It’s beautiful, but it cost me about 400 CDN.
I sometimes wish we had a David’s Bridal in Canada.

But I cannot wait to see the prom dresses you pick out, Francesca!

Oh, how I wish I’d known of this blog for my own senior prom two years ago, where I wore a hideous black tube with a handkerchief skirt with my hips and breasts strapped in and flattened down so it looked “right.” So glad I don’t have any pictures.

On another note, my friends and I are having our own personal Prom for those of us who didn’t attend our own, or hated our own, or have their own this year and don’t want to attend, so I may get a lovely dress for that and dance the night away with the girl I love. Thanks, Francesca.

I well remember my prom. Nearly every other girl was wearing white. It looked like a convention of brides. Me? I wore steel blue and looked superfantastic!

And spent most of the evening sighing in frustration as my boyfriend discussed the special effects in Star Wars with another frustrated girl’s date. At least he made dinner and was a hell of a cook. I’ve never forgotten that glorious flourless chocolate cake. Mmm…yummy.

I do love the sparklies on this dress. Very pretty.

I feel crazy writing this but my first reaction was: those are fairy tale dresses! and I like them!

I didn’t go to prom either, but that was on account of skipping high school. No regrets!
