Oo la la » Manolo for the Big Girl!

Oo la la

By Francesca

Monif C. has introduced a line of swimsuits, and they are very, very pricey and very, very sexy. Francesca likes!

This swimsuit makes Francesca want to become an Angel of the Charlie. Apparently, there are ties at the legs which allow you to adjust it so you can show more thigh, or less. Francesca does not understand how that works, exactly, but is intrigued by the idea.

Wow!

Happy shopping!

xoxo, Francesca

It looks like it’s just ruching along the side seam of the suit from waist down to allow the adjusting.

Neither of these suits do much for me personally, but I wholeheartedly support their use of real models.

  2. Sharn Says:

I think those suits are hideous and they look like your boobs would make a mad dash for the exits if you actually dared to do anything but stand perfectly still in them. If I’m dropping almost half a paycheck on a swimsuit, I don’t think it’s too much to ask that I can actually, you know, SWIM in it.

  3. Bridey Says:

Ah, but there are swimsuits for swimming, and there are swimsuits for posing, and these are the posing variety. I’ve never owned a posing suit myself, but it’s nice to see them being made in the appropriate size.

I rather like the first one, but I have a feeling the second one only looks right if you stand exactly the way that (gorgeous) model is standing. If she puts her arms down, she is, as Sharn notes, going to fall right out of that thing.

  4. Twistie Says:

While these suits are not my style (I like swim suits, not posing suits), I do have to appreciate the fact that someone is considering that there is a market for plus-sized posing suits and actually using a model who isn’t a size zero to market them. Gotta give it up for that!

  5. Angel Says:

I hate it when swimsuits have NO support for the girls. Most plus size ladies need support. They’re obviously not giving the model any.

  6. Lana Says:

The Lana is stunned to learn that the Francesca, a fashion blogger who presumably has some acquaintance with retail fashion, is unfamiliar with ties to adjust length. They’ve been around for a very very long time, in a variety of garment types (skirt, shorts, bathing suits, etc).

  7. ivory Says:

i commented about these suits on another board and the designer informed me that suits offer support (she said they have built in cups). the model does not look supported at all and i’m sure my almost dd’s won’t be either. $115 isn’t bad for a cute bathing suit, but my girls need to be at their best at all times…

If I ever go on vacation and want to pretend I’m a celebutante, I am so wearing this one:

  9. Peaches Says:

Id pay whatever it takes for the perfect swimsuit. These dont really do it for me. I’ll stick with the Slimsuits.

  10. Rob D. Says:

To those of you worried about falling out, they have this wonderful invention called double sided tape.

I love the barbados suit! Sadly, my bust needs more support than that.
