I love you guys. Deeply, madly, passionately love you.
Last week I hit you with this Very Special Image:
and you came back with eight superfantastic captions.
The judging was not easy for this one. You gave me scale jokes, you gave me classic literature references, you gave me fashion and style pronouncements…but only one of you referenced one of my favorite historical oddities. And so it is that the laurel goes to Therese for this particularly special caption:
Mmmmmmmmmmmm, I wonder if it would be pushing the friendship if I asked him to style my merkin?
Please do keep in mind that the link is not work safe by a country mile.
Congratulations, Therese! And thanks to everyone who played!
Brava, Therese! You went there, did that, and got the t-shirt, girl!!!

The Annalucia followed the link (fear not, she is at home) and the only question in her mind now is, “How on earth does one hold it in place?”

You know, that’s always been my question, too. I assume nowadays that something along the lines of toupee tape is used, but I haven’t the foggiest how they were held in place in days of yore.

Rory Bremner does a great Bush impersonation in which he asks why Bush is so “proud to be a merkin”

It’s kind of creepy and reminds me of the episode with the giants in the old PBS series of “The Chronicles of Narnia.” (shudder)
