That plasticky-vinyl-elastic thing really cheapens the look, and I'm having a hard time giving the dress an independent evaluation because of it. Yes, Lane Bryant may call it piping, but it's not - it's embroidery, or passementerie, or something of the sort. Piping is a tubular material used on seams and the edges of clothing, while this is spread across the front. I really dislike the lazy use of language, and this is right up there.
