All I have to do is put my fangs in and shake out my butt-length black hair and it’s Instant Vampire!

Occasionally, I dressed up for work as Marilyn Monroe, but I stopped doing that; I had one person too many suggest that I should really think about cutting my hair … and dyeing it blonde. It was too confusing; was I supposed to be happy that they liked the costume, or annoyed that they preferred it to the daily version of me?

I have an incurable addiction to historic costume. I’ve already been to my friendly neighborhood Renaissance Festival twice this month.

My dream costume, though, would be anything with a giant pair of wings. I’d love to be a faerie, an angel, or a demon.

I will be dressing up multiple times – I LOVE Halloween.

At work I will either be Princess Daisy from Nintendo OR Redheaded Amy Winehouse. Can’t decide really.

At my costume party? I’ll Peggy Bundy (from Married with Children)…and my sweetie is going as Al. Oh, its going to be brilliant – I already have my leopard print shirt and matching/clashing gold lame stretch belt with leopard head closure. OH YES.

Fantasy me? Hmmm…I dunno. Everything I want to dress up as, I do. Its very liberating!

My ideal costume is my beloved Renfaire dress which tragically disappeared during my last move.

I dress up at work. This year, I’m the Office Wizard. I have a black wizard hat with matching silver trim & stars and a wand. I painted the words on a black shirt with silver fabric paint, and I bought a pair of Silouhettes black palazzo pants for $5 at Goodwill. My coworker suggested I make a paperclip necklace. She’s going as a Facebook page.

I never really thought about a dream costume, but I think going as a mermaid would be neat. I couldn’t pull off the two-piece, but if I could find a teal sequined gown with a fishtail, I would wear it with a long wig and stick seashells in my hair. And if I had a Mr. Bree to wear a fisherman’s outfit, that would be cool too.

OMG, Halloween is my favorite holiday! I love to play dress-up!

This year, I will be in gingham and a muffin hat as a Revolutionary War-era woman. Very low fidelity costume! Not my usual thing, but I so, so terribly want to dress my 18-month old son up in a teeny little coat like you’d see in Colonial Williamsburg and tie his dark curls back into a wee pigtail. So I thought I should match him.

My dream costume comes in assorted eras of history and fantasy, but is some variety of the Adventurer. It could be pirate (in sexy high boots but also trousers and a full length frock coat – forget the miniskirt!), it could be Victorian steam-punk inventor, it could be anything involving a crisp white shirt, khakis and more boots (Pat Savage or a female Indiana Jones both are welcome), it could be Lord of the Rings-inspired valkyrie-esque.
