Long, long ago, before the advent of Diet Coke and Sweet Lady Internet, two very different groups of oddly-dressed people got together in the spirit of fellowship, began a tradition and changed our fair land forever.
I am, of course, talking about the annual University of Texas/Texas A&M football game.
So whether you’re a decent, thoughtful, caring human being or you hate America and want A&M to win, I hope this day is special to you. If you watch the game on the TV, look for the fat girl in the orange Hermes scarf with a balloon tied around her wrist (what? I’ve never been to a football game before and I don’t want to get lost. I tend to wander off when distracted, and what’s more distracting than college athletes bending over?).
Hook ’em Horns!
(oh, and have a Happy Thanksgiving!)
If I admit that I detest football in all its forms, can I still have (and wish you, Plumcake, dear) a happy Thanksgiving?
Rock your Hermes scarf and wrist balloon!

Ah, but will it be a burnt orange Hermes? That might be kind of hard to see in that ocean of UT burnt orange.

What is this “football” of which you speak? The ball isn’t even round: is that really a ball, then? I think college football players must be slightly malformed.

Oh honey, I SO agree that there is nothing more distracting that college athletes bending over. I used to work on the sidelines (as one of the football team’s sports medicine staff) at the local college and all those tight butts in tighter pants made taping ankles VERY difficult to focus on!
Football is the bestest. =)

I’m not a UT fan, even though I went to grad school there. My loyalty to my college (Rice) trumps grad school ties. But when I lived in Austin, I really liked seeing the tower lit up.
PS I really miss the Southwest conference.
