I am never able to decide upon a New Year's Resolution, let alone keep one! Although I do try and make myself a better person all year round!

Some 5 or 6 years ago my resolution was never to diet again, and apart from some very, very minor incidents, I'm still keeping it. :)

Well, I usually come up with 3 or 4 and will succeed in at least 2 - but I've never gotten them all done. Ah well. I'm happy with my 50-50 status.

Last years (that I completed) were to sing at karaoke at least 5 times (stage fright!), use my iPod touch every day (yay), and to save money more successfully.

This years are to lose 30 more lbs (I did 30 this past year, I can do it again), get married to my fiance and to do one good deed a month.

I'm already working on my January good deed, and the weight loss continues without interruption...I assume I'll get married as planned.

Don't make 'em, kind of like how I don't give up anything for Lent. I do take stock of my life and what I want and how I'm doing on getting closer to my goals. There's something too forced about date-based resolutions.

I made one resolution, about 1995, wherein I resolved to not beat the crap out of anyone first thing in the morning.

It worked out so well I never felt the need to make another.

Past failed resolutions: Be more organized! Lose weight! Go to the gym every day!

Past successful resolutions: Learn to wear heels and walk in them and look fantastic! Go see more live theatre! Make a short film! Cook more at home!

So the successful things are the ones that give me a push to do something enjoyable.

As a teacher, it usually feels like my new year begins in August with the new school year. I used to make "school year" resolutions, but they never seemed to stick.

Last year I resolved to try to be less afraid of things, especially change. Using that resolution, I've ended up teaching in Bahrain!

So, I'm thinking that I need more abstract goals rather than concrete ones. This year I'm resolving to be more social. Of course, I just ignored that one tonight as I bailed on pizza with friends due to the jet lag of coming back to the Middle East. However, the nice thing about thematic resolutions, they're vague enough that you can wipe "failure" away and just keep trying.

I don't do resolutions. I'm of the mind that if I need to change something about myself/ my life, then there's no sense waiting for New Year's just because!

I've made the same resolution three years running and never seem to be able to quite nail it. It's an amazingly lame little resolution, too. Not quite "I resolve to keep my sock balls organized by size and color," but close.

But I'm off to a good start! So far, I've managed to floss every night of 2009.

...hey, my dentist says it's important, you know? Cavities aren't superfantastic!

I've actually kept several. I don't make resolutions every year, but when I do make them, I tend to keep them. Last year's resolution was to read at least 12 books in 2008, and I read 13. My resolution for 2006 was to lose 20 lbs., and I ended up losing nearly 30. This year's resolutions are to once again read at least 12 books, to de-clutter and organize my house, to get at least seven hours of sleep per night, and to be kind to everyone I encounter.
