I agree with the "fugly rose" comment above, but I think the purpose was to cover up the a fore-mentioned cleavage. Thanks Francesca, for pointing out they now come in a camisole-version. I've purchased a few more and think they may be handy for when you want to unbutton a blazer or sweater from the bottom buttons without risk of stomach exposure.
