Although I am not at all fat, I enjoy the commentary on your blog and I especially like the links to sales. I purchased a hat from Roaman’s and so got on their mailing list for their catalogs. I was so surprised to see that Roaman’s uses regular size models, not plus sized. The biggest looked like barely a size 14. What’s up with that? Why don’t they show models of size? Those are their customers!

There are some great buys at the Sak’s sale, FYI.

Annie, because in a world where model Lara Stone –who varies between a 4 and 6 size six– is considered “big”, a size 14 is considered huge. I was plus size model in my youth and was considered too big for catalog work at 5’10” and a size 14/16.

Another dirty secret? They often hire girls who are really 10’s and pad them. Yes, pad them.
