The Daily Kick: Mid-Heel Comfort, Mad Men Style

They said it couldn’t be done, at least not in our lifetime, but I have managed to find an attractive mid-heel shoe that’s sexy, timeless and actually interesting.

“Jette” from DaniBlack

The “Jette” from DaniBlack. I’m particularly enamored of the coral –a color I think we’ll see popping up more and more in the coming seasons thanks to Mad Men’s seemingly unending popularity– and the aqua.

These are exactly the sort of shoes –the coral and the blue especially– I’d qualify as a sound investment: classic classic classic, but not boring and not so deadly expensive you’d be afraid to wear them twice a week. On (modest) sale at Endless.com. Half sizes up to 11.

Nice. A good mid-heel is worth its weight in gold.

This blog has caused me to pick up two new expensive accessory habits? I always had the expensive shoe and handbag habit, but I always sort of ignored Hermes scarves and hats. Now I am haunting Ebay buying Hermes and turbans (I got one just like Lana Turner from the Postman Always Rings Twice!!).

Anyway, those aqua pumps. Oh…those aqua pumps.

Be very very VERY careful buying Hermès off eBay. I’ve seen more fakes on there than you can shake a baton at. Your best bet would be to go through luxury-scarves.com or houseofscarves.com. Before you bid on eBay please PLEASE look at the purseblog Hermès authentication thread and get their OK.

Eenie meenie miney mo–I like both black and aqua.

Lisa and Plumcake–The Bag Snob blog is another good resource for Hermes information. Bag Snob Tina is a Hermes collector.
