On behalf of Twistie, Francesca and the whole Manolo gang, we want to wish our American (AND CANADIAN, geesh! -ed.) readers a Happy Labor Day!
How about a little poster retrospective in honor of the working women who came before us, starting with the most famous working girl of them all (no, not Melanie Griffith) Rosie the Riveter, a substantial broad as rendered by Norman Rockwell.
(Illinios? Apparently all the copy editors were needed for the War Effort)
You know, it’s Labour Day here in Canada too…
Gramatically a bit different, but still, happy holliday :P

I’ve never cared much for Norman Rockwell, but that one Rosie the Riveter picture has always appealed strongly to me. I think I love the fact that she’s grimy from work and muscular and eating a sandwich without fear or favor.
Happy Labour Day, Canada! And happy Labor Day to my fellow u-deprived Americans!

Never forget the Canadians! We’ll always remind you!
