Cheap Thrill for the Week

Filed under: Cheap Thrills — Francesca @ 8:26 am

Plumcake’s post about Cherries in the Snow reminded Francesca of another oldie-but-goodie, which she has inherited with love from her saintly mother.

Nivea Creme!

Nivea Creme!

Smells heavenly and comes in the traditional tub, the modern tube, or in cute little retro tins.

Use everywhere except your face for rich moisturizing and feminine fragrance!

  1. Beauty addict secret: the Nivea creme made in Germany (not the creme made in Mexico, which is the more common version in the U.S. and includes a few ingredients you don’t want on your face) is apparently a dead ringer for Creme de la Mer. Having never tried the la Mer I can’t say for certain, but it’s definitely nice!

  2. Mama!

Childhood associations aside, I seem to recall some ladymag article (so most likely it was total cobblers) that said Brooke Shields swore by the Niv.

  3. i couldn’t get enough of this stuff when i lived in alaska. the cold dry weather had my skin constantly chapped, and nivea was the only thing that saved it. i had the massive tub in my bathroom, and the little tins in my purse. and i totally slathered it on my face. …there haven’t been any repercussions. and it was heavenly at the time.
now i live in hawaii, and my only moisturizer is straight up sun screen.
    go figure.
