Knit dresses are the home electrolysis kits of winter casual looks, by and large wonderful in theory and terrible in practice. The problem is, they need to be made for the figure almost exactly, and unless you're a fit model a la Joy Nash, then nuh-uh. Also, they are generally made out of awful materials, as are only made for a season - I am a total knitwear snob, and can't be having with them. This year I've been rocking a long cardigan with leggings and a belt.

LOVE the gray "yes" dress. The top outfit, however, looks like something my grandma might appreciate. She's 90. If you are 90 and perusing this site for fashion tips, more power to you - but I'll definitely give that one a miss.

The "no" sweater looks like one of those knitting projects that's lots of fun to make, but then you finish it and realize it looks good on very few body types, and it's also amazingly impractical (short sleeves?).

I would wear the "maybe" dress as a tunic with jeans or possibly leggings and boots. I'd like it better if it had a more interesting neckline and the sleeves didn't end right at the waist.

The maybe is a "no" as far as I am concerned. I hate that cut--that might be my shape talking (hourglass).

I love the design and idea of the knit dress, but look at the tummy - this is one case where straight lines would be a boon. But I'd much rather where a huge sweater, put on some leggings - and then stay in and read!

Not just 'no', but 'DEAR GOD NO', at least for the likes of moi. I am way too a) old, b) short, c) racktacular. Love #1 Yes, would love #2 Yes if it had a V-neck.

Is it bad that I love the 'No' dress? My joy in a nice knit dress for the winter months shall never stop! Although I'm not a huge fan of the colour, I like the details.
