A Word from Plumcake
Darlings, I’ve had just the teensiest personal crisis involving a very small (totally accidental) fire. Everyone and thing is okay –although I do have smoke in my lungs and I haven’t unclenched a muscle in days– but I’m taking the next day or so off to gather myself. Rest assured when I return we will have a special Hotness session featuring firefighters and dish will be spilled.
Gin and Tonics,
Plummy

Oh, Plummy! Sending relaxing and smoke-cleansing thoughts your way.
also sending virtual gin. xoxo
Best wishes for a quick recovery! Sending gin as well.
Christine
Best wishes for repair of home & nerves-we miss you!
Ack! I’m so glad you’re okay! A house fire is one of my absolute worst nightmares.
I hope you are tastefully draped on a fainting couch with virile firefighters fanning you and plying you with martinis and truffles. Be well!
O! Dear, Plumcake. Breathe & unclench. We’ll wait for you right here. *hugs & high-fives*
As one of your loyal readers who actually happens to work “in” lungs, I wish you a speedy recovery! If you have any concerns about the smoke inhalation, you should call 1-800-LUNG-USA to speak with a respiratory therapist. Unfortunately, our help line does not have the ability to send you hunky firefighters. :(
Oh my! Glad there was no serious loss or injury. jen209 is right. Be sure to have your lungs attended to.
Heavens! Take care, dearie!
EEK!! DID YOU MANAGE TO SAVE THE SHOES?????? (I am of course thrilled you are ok.)
Dearest Plummy, since others have taken care of sending gin and firefighters, I am sending virtual scones and tasteful slippers suitable for wearing whilst reclining on a chaise longue and being pampered by gin-fueled firefighters.
poor Miss Plummy! Such an ordeal. Be good to yourself, dear.
You are just too hot for your own good, that’s all.
Glad you’re okay, Plummy!
Glad everything’s fine! Hope you recover quickly!
-Denise
This is a note of UNDYING LOVE FOR TWISTIE. Thank you, THANK YOU, for saying “chaise longue.” It is one of my biggest pet peeves when people refer to it as “lounge.”
And also of course, more thoughts for Plummy!
teteatete, I don’t think The Manolo would allow someone who writes ‘chaise lounge’ to write for him. We have Standards around here.
Plummy, I’m curious. If your muscles are still clenched, where exactly was the fire and how many firemen did it take to put it out? It usually takes me three or four.
Oh dear! My roommate (before we were roommates) once accidentally had part of a detached garage burn a bit while it was under her care. Through the gossip grapevine, she has become known as that girl who burnt down that house. She’s come to embrace it by now, I think.
What trauma – *tea and biscuits*
So glad you came out of that largely unhurt! Hope you’re well again very soon, we miss you!
Yay for firemen and their big hoses!
