Will CNN Invite Lauren to Suck It?

Filed under: Suck it — Twistie @ 11:56 am

Okay, by now you should all be aware of the reprehensible Photoshopping flapdoodle surrounding Ralph Lauren (AKA: Princelet of Darkness, because he can’t be number one while His Karlness is still around). We’ve certainly done our level best to bring the matter to your attention.

And it seems to be slowly reaching the national media, as well. Tonight, Dec. 19, 2009 CNN enters the arena with a segment on the boycott. Tune in at 10:00 pm Eastern, 9:00 pm Central, or 7:00 pm Pacific.

Set your DVRs, folks! I know I’ll be tuning in.

  2. Well, Melissa, first they aired a bit about a woman in France agitating for legislation that would identify every advertising pic that had been photoshopped and a sound bite from the skeletal remains of Karl Lagerfeld informing us that mere women would be the death of fashion. Then after a brief break we got the leader of the Ralph Lauren boycott vs a professional photographer who has done a lot of photoshopping on fashion images…except there was no ‘vs’ bit. Both of them said what Lauren did (and continues to do because more of these images have surfaced…one of which was slightly altered to add a tiny sliver of hip to a model’s image just hours after the Facebook page of the boycott started decrying it) is appalling.

The host seemed mildly at sea with no actual controversy to fan and the whole thing ended without any information given about how to join the boycott or where to find the Facebook page.

Still, it made a nationally broadcast news show. That in itself is a victory.

  3. Oooh. I have to search for the segment on the internet. Don’t have CNN on my TV.
