Five Great Shoes Under $50: The Day Shoe

Filed under: Five Great...,Sales,Shoes — Miss Plumcake @ 8:00 am

Everyone should have a pair of neutral, solid-heeled day shoes in their personal collection. In fact, I keep a pair in my car at all times.

A good thing too, as I had a wardrobe malfunction on Christmas eve and had to switch from my redonkulous Brian Atwoods:
pink atwoods

to a pair much more like these:
Pierre Darre

Are they exciting when compared to a pair of $900 fuchsia silk shoes bejeweled with hand-faceted crystals? Not, really, no, but they’re dead handy to have around and rate a lot higher in the utility department. They’re statement-y enough –it’s the slight banana heel that does it– to wear with boyfriend jeans for that louche Parisienne look, but they’re also classic enough to wear with pretty much every day dress in your closet.

Originally $228, limited sizes are available at YOOX for $49

  1. I was naughty. I bought them. I DID need a neutral pump and they WERE in my size and VERY MUCH on sale. But I think I secretly wanted the fuschia shoes covered in geegaws.

  2. Somewhat off the suject, but in Daily Kick you once featured yellow and green Puma tennies, $32 at 2/3 off. Yoox had one size left, 10, which I bought & have been getting great wear out of. Not my usual, but great w/ green Jill Sander shearling coat (also 2/3 off at Last Call). It’s hard to find cool walking shoes, so this is a belated thank you!

  3. That’s one thing I lack in my wardrobe. Good shoes. I need to purchase a couple once I get paid.
