Hey all you bargain fans out there! The Manolo in his infinite wisdom (and I certainly do mean infinite, since he’s the guy who was smart enough to give me a writing gig) has requested that I start doing a bargains/recommendations article on Wednesdays.
And so here we go!

Zaftique is having a clearance sale through May 31st. Their clothes are pretty hit or miss, but they fit true to size and hold up well to hard wear. That means that when you find a classic or pretty piece on sale, it’s worth taking a look and deciding whether you think it will work in your wardrobe.
This classic and classy black lace top is lined in nude colored nylon for modesty. It’s available in sizes from 12 – 38 (not all sizes available) at a real steal. Originally priced at $49.00 – $54.00 (Sorry, Zaftique does often charge more for the largest sizes), it’s on sale for $24.50 – 27.00. That’s not at all bad for something that can go from the office to a nice restaurant or the theater at a moment’s notice.
Heading over to Igigi, there are some fabulous looks for less in their sale section. I find myself particularly drawn to the aptly named Brilliant Ideas dress.
It’s simple and elegant but fun. I love the forest green color and the fact that it has actual pockets. Made of poly/viscose/Elastane with a handmade silk button, Igigi suggests dry cleaning only. It started out at $118.00, but is on sale right now in sizes 22 – 26 for $106.00. I don’t know about you, but I want this one. Of all the rotten times to only be a size 18.
A crisp white blouse is always a handy thing to have in your wardrobe. My choice for a great buy? This elegant dolman sleeved, self-belted blouse by Kenneth Cole on sale now at Nordstrom.
Made of a cotton/poly/spandex blend, it’s machine washable and sure to turn heads. Okay, I would probably switch out the belt for a simple leather one for day, something a little sparkly for an evening out, but that’s easy enough to do. The important thing is that while it would normally set you back $79.00, it’s on sale for just $52.90 in sizes 14W – 24W.

I like the green dress, but pockets? They always put extra padding in the wrong spot for me.

I actually just tried on that orange Avenue sundress. It was adorable (and cheap!) on the hanger, but it was much too short for me to wear. And I don’t mean length; I mean the empire waist. A large size was too big around. I was bummed; it was a really cute dress!
