Plumcake Outs Her (Famous) Cousin!

Filed under: Movies — Miss Plumcake @ 3:09 am

Okay so generally I don’t like to out my family by name because I’m saving it for the tell-all (you guys, Tennessee Williams doesn’t BEGIN to describe it) BUT I’m going to make one exception to brag on my little cousin Bobby.

Michael Bay (left), producer and director of a whole bunch of popcorn flicks I wouldn’t watch if you staple-gunned my spinal column to a movie chair (Miss Plumcake is a delicate petal when it comes to sensory overload: I can’t even have a full-powered blow dryer because of the noise) has picked up Bobby’s movie and will produce it, while Bobby will write and direct! How exciting is that?!

Granted, I’m much more Fassbinder and Truffaut than Fast and Furious, and because I am –as previously discussed– a delicate petal when it comes to sensory overload; I haven’t seen a first-release film in a theater since Black Snake Moan.

Seriously you guys: I am just so, so proud of him and it truly couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy. In fact, I was trying to think of a single rotten thing to say about him –I mean he’s related to my mother, so he must be at least partially evil– and I got nothin’. Nothing! He’s a sweet kid who has worked hard and I couldn’t be happier.

  2. Major hurray!! for your cousin Bobby. This is the thing that writers and film makers dream of – to have someone big (and with MONEY!!) who will take you under their wing. Great stuff.

  3. Congratulations to Bobby! Now you’ll know he’ll REALLY have made it when he manages to make the whole movie without Michael Bay adding a scene with a helicopter flying into the sunset.

You do realize that every film student in America is now going to aspire to being your cousin, right?
