… hates empty walls
… always wants spinach for her birthday
… owns only three pairs of shoes
… would cheerfully give up one pair of those shoes for another piece of Le Creuset cookware
… is still amazed that she’s a professional writer
… makes lace while watching sci-fi and detective shows
… bakes the most awesome pies and cakes you have ever tasted, and isn’t at all bad with bread and cookies
… hates to lose games
… will never read another Steinbeck novel or sit through another Tennessee Williams play
… chooses not to function without coffee in the morning, but is capable of doing so
… loves to polish her nails, but never in red or pink
… cries like a baby at weddings and sad movies
… is a magnet for animals and small children
… wears a great deal of purple because she can’t imagine being sad in purple
Your turn.
(shamelessly stolen from Notblueatall)
Woo! I love this! Thanks! Still wishing we were neighbors, we could swap our baked goodies weekly! <3

Frances
….is not bothered in the least by empty walls.
….can never ever pass up on Mammy’s lasagne, even if she’s so full it hurts.
….loves Bailey’s hot chocolate.
….has been turned into a dangerous frag hag by the combined influence of P
Plumcake and Style Spy.
….loves to celebrate a new haircut with a fantastically expensive hairband. every.single.time.
….read Catch-22 and frankly, wasn’t impressed.
….loves her darling English cocker who is in the words of her vet, “a dedicated lap-sitter”.
….still cannot sit through the bits in Disney movies where characters get shouted at. Like when the Beast yells at Belle for touching the rose, or when Ariel gets scolded by King Triton.
….would like people to know that just because she’s not drinking, doesn’t mean she’s not enjoying herself. She’s not drinking because your wine selection is horrible. (That sounds very rude, but hey, it’s true.)

@notblueatall: Darlin’, that would make me just as happy as it would make you.
@Frances: Truly, ’tis better to go thirsty than to drink of Boone’s Farm.

TropicalChrome….
…loves chocolate, cats, and the color purple.
…has built her wardrobe around purple and black as the backbone colors.
…has a purple streak dyed into her hair…underneath, so it only shows when I want it to.
…is very good at finding something positive to say even when she has to search very, very hard to do so.
…wears nail polish, but only in colors that make her happy to look at them. Taupe is Right Out.
…enjoys creative cocktails or good wine, but only when she damn well feels like it
…finds the boring off-white walls in her house rather soothing, actually, and a very nice backdrop for the art hanging on them. She sees no reason to paint them any other color.
…sews far better than she’ll ever give herself credit for
…fundamentally does not understand the need to be in continual contact with one’s friends and family, especially to get second, third, and sixteenth opinions on whether or not she should buy something. She trusts herself pretty much.
…will give up her morning coffee when you pry it from her cold, dead, shaking, over-caffeinated hands.
…does not wear statement jewelry. Statement jewelry wears her. This is not good.

Big Scary American Girl…
…loves living in London.
…has a fondness for alt-country music.
…not-so-secretly feels that knitting from a pattern is kind of cheating.
…is glad she never had children.
…can’t imagine living without cats.
…believes strongly in some causes but is content to leave the activism to others.
…has heard several people use the word “amazing” to describe her artwork (and might not say so herself, but is learning to accept compliments gracefully).
…has a 3-octave range.
…has accepted that her hair looks best short.
…prefers glasses to contacts.
…has stuck with the same shade of dark burgundy toenail polish for nearly 3 decades.
…tried being a vegetarian twice, and it just didn’t work out.
…starts every day with a homemade 4-shot soy latte.
…thinks life is too short for painful shoes.
…never wears purple.
…is not the least bit scary.

@Twistie
Isn’t it? I’m a university student and sweet Jaysus, the paint thinner that passes for wine in this joint. I’ll be here clutching my Hendrick’s and Indian tonic water, thanks very much.

La Petite Acadienne…
…moved to the country for love, but will always be a city girl.
…would eat cake and drink good red wine every day if she had her druthers.
…has wide feet with high insteps, and hence, an extremely limited shoe wardrobe.
…has no creativity when it comes to cooking or baking, but she DOES make the most interesting, delicious salads ever.
…has to have coffee in the morning. That is non-negotiable.
…is surprised at how much she loves being a mommy, but would still give her back teeth to be able to sleep later on weekends.
…is battling an outbreak of the shingles right now, and is NOT best pleased about it.
…cannot be bothered painting her fingernails, but NEVER has bare toenails (current colour: OPI We’ll Always Have Paris).
…has musical taste that pretty much starts and stops with ’90’s alt-rock and grunge. Sirus Channel 24 has been very good to me.

danger marie…
… only comments when she can talk about herself.
… has a wardrobe almost entirely made up of Old Navy clothes, because she works there and it’s cheap – but she dreams in high fashion.
… is finally starting to be comfortable with how awkward she is.
… is trying to blog (remember when it was an ‘online journal’?) again.
… has a really cool interview tomorrow.
… only feels like she fits in with fringe groups.
… considers her taste in music superior to most people’s – especially her boyfriend’s.
… is in the process of decorating her first home for the first time, and secretly sort of plans on never, ever stopping.
… likes this game. And you ladies.

Miss B is…
…discovering she has a talent for making floral arrangements and Christmas wreaths/decorations
…is still knitting the same pair of socks she promised a friend a year ago
…has a wide foot and despairs of being able to wear beautiful shoes ever again
…prefers red nail polish no matter what is in style
…is learning how to dress herself in the manner she likes best
…still loves to dance
…does not like most red wines but keeps trying them anyhow.
…is loving the heck out of this time of year and this game! :)

This fluffy little TX bunny:
… hates white walls but needs to stay home long enough to paint them – copes because the her bedroom is painted a lovely dusty blue-green
… believes jewelry is always an appropriate gift for her birthday and Christmas
… does not count the number of shoes she has because if all fit in the closet the number is immaterial
… bought really good cookware and bakeware 7 yrs ago and never ever regretted it
… is a fine cook and baker
… believes a house is incomplete without a proper dining room
… uses china everyday
… makes her living as an engineer and wonders why from time to time
… loves bridge but can’t find anyone to play with on a regular basis due to needing to work for a living
… loves foreign films and subtitles
… wishes she had time to read more novels
… drinks tea as her caffeine source – both hot and cold
… hates coffee unless it is one of those ridiculous frothy drinks with chocolate, ice, and whipped cream
… will not drink bad wine
… almost never polishes her nails because they get destroyed in the garden
… is adored by babies and dogs; tolerated by cats
… wears a dress every day to work in some type of retro style because I just look better in a dress
… feels silk and cashmere are essential in life along with good perfume
… has been known to sprint through an airport in heels with luggage to catch a connecting flight but would rather saunter along in cowboy boots these days
