Weighty Katie | Manolo for the Big Girl

Weighty Katie

What did I say about being terrible at headlines? If the good Lord wanted me to be able to write my own headlines he would’ve made me a copy editor.

Hmm..

Is it wrong that I actually prefer the OSP Collection gown over the Jenny Packham? I’m a big fan of having at least one evening dress appropriate for summer’s less formal but still gown-requiring benefits and whatnots (which is about to include tomorrow unless I do some laundry in this place. Seriously, it’s like one pair of underwear, an Argentina shirt I got bleach on and my prom dress) and although I didn’t love it at first, this gown is growing on me. Plus it’s on sale. You can take an additional 40% off your highest priced item using the code OSPCOUPON16.

I know you aren’t publicly commenting on someone’s weight… I thought you had established, with your usual eloquence, that that was Not Cool.

@Wildflower: No, I was making a pun on Waity Katie, the Duchess of Cambridge’s nickname since she waited so long to get married. A dress that looks like Kate’s dress designed for larger women = Weighty Katie. Put away your ruler, Mother Superior.

Ah. Thanks for the clarification. Good call on the Catholicism (does it show that much?), but I don’t *do* obedience. Nor chastity. :)

I love when you put beautiful things up (like that dress) but I swear that as soon as you do they instantly sell out! Granted this one isn’t exactly sold out yet, there is one size left, but I swear it happens every time! You are just entirely too influential for my wardrobe expansion :) The good Lord knows I wanted that dress in all it’s perfection for summer formal events…Wide straps that would cover a real bra, beautiful detailing that would make me look smashing without being too much, and in a light and airy color that just sings summer time. Thanks for posting it, now that I know it is out there maybe I will get lucky and someone will sell one in my size on ebay or someplace.

I loved this, but couldn’t decide to get it as it looked v low at the back, but if I’d seen your post yesterday I would have known what to do! What did people think of the OSP collection? I loved bits, but faux look denim on fancy style pieces was a bit weird for me….

Also there’s a video here for the coming winter collection…there’s a great looking floor length gunmetal grey thing at the end, but it’s shot in half darkness, so hard to tell if it’s good quality.
