How to Wear Wedge Heeled Boots

Wedge heels might have started off as a summer trend, but they’re here to stay right through the year with the wedge-heeled boot. If you still haven’t mastered this style of footwear, there here are a few top tips on how you can wear wedge boots.

Wedge boots are the perfect winter investment, as they can be worn with a variety of different outfits. If you opt for a basic black pair, then they’ll look great teamed with a dress for a night out, but can also be worn with skinny jeans for a night in watching TV or playing online partypoker. As long as you’re not wearing anything too delicate, wedges will still add a feminine touch to any outfit, without being quite as tricky to walk in as classic stilettos. If you feel like your wedges look too chunking with a dress or skirt, then try wearing them with a opaque tights for a more streamlined look.

Although wedge boots are extremely versatile, there are a few things with which they should not be worn. Most of them are obvious, like sweatpants, for example. However, you should also avoid wearing wedges with cropped trousers, and you’ll need to be careful about wearing them with shorts. If you’re keen to get a little extra height, then you should also look out for platform wedges, rather than simply higher heels. These can be a lot easier to walk in, and less likely to make you uncomfortable.

Although black or brown can be a safe option when it comes to wedges heels, this style of shoe can also be used as a great opportunity to be a little more daring. Try bolder colours in order to create a fashion-forward style or, if you’re feeling especially brave, opt for eye catching materials such as suede and velvet.
