…over white bathing suits.
I finally broke down and bought this white convertible swimdress from Roaman’s. The adjustable ruching at the sides lets you shorten it for a retro swim look like Norma Jean and the gang, or you can let it down for more coverage, whatever your heart and your legs desire. Love, love, love white swimsuits. They’re hard to find in plus sizes. One must be very careful because white suits can become transparent/translucent when wet.

I love things like this — the ruching and drawstrings will make it flattering for all figures and a great bargan to boot.
The Esther William’s Classic Sheath has been my go to suit for years. http://www.esther-williams.com/plus-sizes/ The ruching really allows a very custom fit – one of my best friends and I have the same suit in the same size – she is almost 9 inches taller than I am and it works for both the long and lanky and short and curvy. I believe the Roman’s swimdress would be the same in that regard and am going to grab one or two for aquarobics.
Also, in the News section of her website there is an article from 1946 about how Esther Williams taught Elizabeth Taylor to swim. Oh to have been poolside with a restorative cocktail!
